Albany Attorney Serves as Local Counsel on First Federal Salmonella Case

Patrick Flynn, of Albany-based law firm Flynn Peeler and Phillips, has been retained as local counsel for the first federal lawsuit filed pertaining to the recent nationwide salmonella outbreak. Flynn will work alongside Seattle-based Bill Marler, a renowned food borne illness attorney. The case involves a seven-year-old Vermont boy who was hospitalized after becoming sick from salmonella poisoning. The suit alleges that a pack of peanut butter crackers caused his illness. The suit further alleges that the tainted peanut paste used in the crackers has since been traced to the Peanut Corporation of America (PCA), based in Blakely, Ga. To date, over...
