Michael Solender Named Americas Vice Chair and General Counsel of Ernst & Young LLP

Ernst & Young LLP announced that Michael S. Solender will join the firm on February 24 as the Americas Vice Chair and General Counsel. Mr. Solender replaces Kathryn A. Oberly, who was sworn in as Associate Judge, District of Columbia Court of Appeals on January 19, 2009. Mr. Solender was General Counsel and Senior Managing Director of The Bear Stearns Companies Inc. from 2004 until 2008. In 2008, he also served as Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Officer of Washington Mutual Inc.
