Coalition for a Secure Driver's License CSDL Delivers More than Two Thousand Petitions to the California Governor's Office



March 15th, 2009

Brian Zimmer, President of the Coalition for a Secure Driver's License, today delivered to the Office of Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger over 2000 petitions. The petitions are from California citizens who support the state's continuing effort to comply with federal regulations setting minimum standards for driver's license issuance.

Mr. Zimmer cited the recommendation in the 9/11 Commission report: "[t]he federal government should set standards for the issuance of birth certificates and sources of identification, such as drivers' licenses. Fraud in identification documents is no longer just a problem of theft."
