The Detroit Economic Club (DEC) is pleased to host Philip Howard, author of Life Without Lawyers: Liberating Americans from Too Much Law, chair of Common Good and vice-chair of Covington & Burling on Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at the Troy Marriott in Troy, Mich. Doors open at 11:30 a.m., and Howard's speech will begin at 12:30 p.m. Life Without Lawyers (described by George Will as "2009's most needed book on public affairs",) argues that the expansion of lawsuits and bureaucracy over recent decades has "engulfed our daily lives."
