Fitch Affirms Children's Hospital Medical Center of Akron Ohio Bonds at 'A+'; Outlook Stable



March 22nd, 2009

Fitch Ratings affirms the underlying 'A+' rating on approximately $117 million in outstanding revenue bonds issued on behalf of Children's Hospital Medical Center of Akron (Akron Children's) by the Akron, Bath and Copley Joint Township Hospital District. The outstanding bonds are insured by Financial Security Assurance, Inc., rated 'AAA' by Fitch. The Rating Outlook is Stable.

The 'A+' rating is supported by Akron Children's leading position as the regional provider of acute pediatric services for the greater Akron-Canton area and its surrounding areas as well as its solid financial profile anchored by consistent profitability, ample liquidity, and a modest debt burden....
