Fitch Releases Latest Edition of U.S. Health Care Sector Report

Fitch Ratings examines a number of recently enacted or proposed programs in the latest edition of its regular report, 'U.S. Health Care Sector Legislative and Regulatory Register -- Spring 2009'. The report summarizes the key aspects of a number of programs, such as the Children's Health Insurance Program Reauthorization Act of 2009 (CHIPRA), and also comments on potential credit exposure for impacted industry sectors. While there have been preliminary discussions among various policymakers on the topic of universal health care initiatives, it is unclear whether such a large and complex issue will be resolved this year.
