NetChoice Issues Statement Opposing Expected Federal Internet Sales Tax Legislation; Executive Director Steve DelBianco Available for Comment

NetChoice executive director Steve DelBianco issued the following statement regarding the expected introduction of a bill that would force small Internet-based businesses to collect and remit sales taxes for states in which they don't have a physical presence. It's anticipated that the bill will be introduced in the U.S. Congress as early as this week. "NetChoice has worked long and hard to oppose Internet sales tax efforts to force catalog and online retailers to collect tax in states where they have no physical presence. We understand the desire by states to find new sources of revenue. But their proposals have never lived up to their promise of simplification....
