Federal District Judge Dismisses Antitrust Lawsuit Against Batesville Casket Company

On April 29, 2009, the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas (Houston), ordered the dismissal of a previously disclosed antitrust lawsuit filed by Pioneer Valley Casket Co., Inc., and three other current or former independent casket retailers against Batesville Casket Company, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Hillenbrand, Inc. (NYSE:HI) The Pioneer Valley plaintiffs agreed to dismiss their complaint against all defendants with prejudice. Plaintiffs and defendants will each be responsible for their own legal costs and expenses.
