James Stevens could just take his offer of $2.4 million to walk away from Vons, the Fortune 500 Company that was found guilty of sexual harassment and retaliation in the workplace, but he won't. Stevens, once an unassuming everyman, is now a vigorous and adamant activist for civil justice. Stevens was awarded $18.4 million dollars in punitive and compensatory damages from a nearly all white jury in Simi Valley, CA in Oct. 2006 after he sued his former employer. His harasser was his female supervisor (a White woman) whose lewd sexual innuendos made his work environment, where he'd been for 25 years, intolerable. Unfortunately, Vons requested a new trial on all issues...
