PERTUSSIS, OR WHOOPING COUGH, HAS BEEN ON THE RISE AMONG ADOLESCENTS IN THE PAST FEW DECADES. IT IS A HIGHLY CONTAGIOUS DISEASE THAT CAN CAUSE PROLONGED COUGH, DIFFICULTY BREATHING, AND LENGTHY ABSENCE FROM SCHOOL.
