Insurer offers improved prescription drug coverage for Medicare Advantage HMO

Blue Shield of California will offer improved prescription drug coverage and no monthly plan premium for its Medicare Advantage HMO members in Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside and San Bernardino counties under the new 2005 benefit package announced by the not-for-profit health plan.

The enhancements to the Blue Shield 65 Plus Medicare Advantage HMO plan need approval from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, which is expected in early November.
