Findings from France, Spain and Japan in lung cancer provide new insights

Reports from France, Spain and Japan highlight recent research in lung cancer.

Study 1: The risk of death in lung cancer patients could be decreased with a platinum-based chemotherapy doublet.

According to a study from France, "Non-platinum regimens have been proposed as an alternative to the platinum-based combinations for treatment of advanced non-small cell lung cancer. However, conflicting results were reported. Meta-analysis of phase III trials randomizing platinum-based versus non-platinum combinations as first-line chemotherapy with 1-year survival rate as a primary endpoint [was conducted]."
