July 4th, 2006

A study from Australia has reported that MusTRD can regulate postnatal fiber-specific expression.

"Human MusTRD1 alpha 1 was isolated as a result of its ability to bind a critical element within the Troponin I slow upstream enhancer (ThIslow USE) and was predicted to be a regulator of slow fiber-specific genes," wrote L.L. Issa and colleagues, Children's Medical Research Institute. "To test this hypothesis in vivo, we generated transgenic mice expressing hMusTRD1 alpha 1 in skeletal muscle."
