Solvay announces plans to extend assistance program for Medicare Part D-eligible patients

Solvay Pharmaceuticals, Inc. announced that it will extend eligibility for its Patient Assistance Program to patients who are eligible for the Medicare Part D prescription drug benefit but have not yet enrolled. The extended program will provide assistance to qualifying patients through December 31, 2006. The company will also seek an advisory opinion from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) on a proposed "Outside Medicare Part D" Patient Assistance Program for those individuals already enrolled in a Medicare Part D plan.
