Alere Medical, State of Colorado extend asthma disease management contract

Continuing a successful disease management pilot which became a permanently funded program, Alere Medical, Inc., a disease management company, announced that its contract with the State of Colorado for the Alere Asthma Program powered by National Jewish has been extended into 2007.

"Since implementing Alere's asthma program, we've seen a marked reduction in asthma-related hospitalizations," said Barbara B. Prehmus, MPH, director of the Medical Assistance Office for the State of Colorado. "We began with a pilot program, which was so effective we were able to create a permanently funded program, and now we're able to extend it for an even longer period of time."
