New algorithms distinguish vessel anatomy and flow on contrast enhanced ultrasound images

"Strategies for improvement of blood flow by promoting new vessel growth in ischemic tissue are being developed. Recently, CEU imaging has been used to assess tissue perfusion in models of ischemia-related angiogenesis, growth-factor mediated angiogenesis, and tumor angiogenesis," scientists writing in the journal IEEE Transactions on Medical Imaging report.
