Human Genome Sciences Announces Proposed Public Offering of Common Stock

Human Genome Sciences, Inc. (NASDAQ:HGSI) announced that it has commenced an underwritten public offering of up to 18,000,000 shares of its common stock. The Company intends to grant the underwriters a 30-day option to purchase up to an additional 2,700,000 shares of the Company's common stock. The shares will be issued pursuant to a prospectus supplement filed as part of a shelf registration statement previously filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Form S-3.
The Company intends to use net proceeds from the offering for general corporate purposes, including clinical trial, research and development, general and administrative and manufacturing expenses,...
