HFMA unveils CFO compensation study results

The Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) released results of a compensation study about CFOs and 10 other healthcare finance titles based on over 2200 survey responses.

The results show that all positions have increased compensation levels, since the last study in 2003. An average cash compensation of CFOs in hospitals and health systems is $172,000. The survey also concludes that individuals with HFMA certification credentials earn $12,600 more than noncertifieds ($182,300 vs. $169,700).

The 2005 survey is comparable to surveys completed by HFMA in 1999, 2001, and 2003. Survey results over the past 6 years show that CFO compensation...
