Avelox benefits study patients with community-acquired pneumonia

A study presented at the 14th annual European Congress of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ECCMID) showed that hospitalized patients with community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) who received sequential therapy with the intravenous (IV) and oral forms of the antibiotic Avelox (moxifloxacin HCl) experienced faster symptom improvement and earlier hospital discharge than patients treated with the antibiotic ceftriaxone.
