Patent issued for multimarker diagnostics using SELDI ProteinChip technology

Ciphergen Biosystems, Inc., (CIPH) announced that it has been granted U.S. patent 6,844,165, directed to the detection of multiple diagnostic markers by SELDI-TOF-MS for the diagnosis of disease. Multimarker assays using Ciphergen's patented surface enhanced laser desorption/ionization (SELDI) ProteinChip System are the basis for the clinical diagnostic tests that Ciphergen diagnostics is currently developing for commercialization. Ciphergen has several issued United States patents that cover aspects of its integrated Pattern Track biomarker discovery, validation, and assay process.
