At the annual general meeting, Nigel Keen, chairman of Axis-Shield, made the following statement: [helv]Trading this year to date has been in line with expectations, building on our strong performance last year, which importantly saw the launch of our new point-of-care system AFINIONTM. Revenue growth in our Laboratory Division during 2004 was achieved primarily through sales of new Abbott products, particularly AxSYM BNP, which is used in the detection of heart failure, and we expect this to continue, helped by the launch of IMx BNP later this year.
