Akorn, Inc., (AKN) announced the appointment of Vandana J. Sonavaria, PhD, as director, International Compliance and Regulatory Affairs. Sonavaria will establish the company's first international office in Pune, India, on the campus of Serum Institute of India, Ltd., (Serum), with whom Akorn has entered into an exclusive drug development and distribution agreement. Sonavaria will be responsible for quality, cGMP and CFR compliance and regulatory affairs for the pipeline of new ANDA products, which the company expects to market as a result of agreements with Serum, FDC Limited and Strides Arcolab Limited.
