Hypoglycemic effect of Gmelina asiatica in diabetic rats examined

Researchers examine the hypoglycemic and antihyperglycemic effect of Gmelina asiatica in normal and diabetic rats in a recent issue of Biological and Pharmaceutical Bulletin. According to a study from India, "The hypoglycemic and antihyperglycemic effect of alcoholic extract of root of Gmelina asiatica was investigated in normal and in alloxan induced diabetic rats. The blood glucose levels were measured at 0 hours and 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, and 16 hours after the treatment."
