U.K. approves marketing of generic omeprazole

Bentley Pharmaceuticals, Inc., (BNT), a technology-based specialty pharmaceutical and drug delivery company with a growing branded and generic product line in Europe, announced that its 20 mg generic dosage version of omeprazole has been approved for marketing in the U.K. Omeprazole belongs to a class of proton-pump inhibitors used in the treatment of acid-related gastrointestinal disorders. The product is marketed by Astra Zeneca in Europe under the trade name Losec and in the U.S. under the trade name Prilosec.
