Study 1: Antepartum surgery is indicated for malignant adnexal masses.
A recent studied carried out by K.M. Schmeler and coworkers, Women's & Infants Hospital of Rhode Island, set out to "estimate whether delaying surgery impacts the risk of adverse maternal and fetal outcomes in patients diagnosed with an adnexal mass during pregnancy. They reviewed pregnant patients diagnosed with an adnexal mass 5 cm or greater in diameter."
