U.S. FDA clears combined blood glucose, blood pressure monitor for home use

GenExel-Sein, Inc., announced that it has received U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) 510k clearance for Duo-Care, a device that combines a home-use blood glucose and wrist blood pressure monitor, eliminating the need for two separate devices.

Duo-Care, which will be marketed and distributed from GenExel-Sein's U.S. Forecare subsidiary, will be sold nationally at select drug and discount chains starting in Q2 2006. The lightweight, easy-to-use monitor empowers users to take an active role in managing diabetes and hypertension.
