New head & neck cancer study findings have been reported by researchers in the United States.

Study 1: Head and neck cancers with high epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) gene copy number yield poorer outcomes.

According to recent research published in the Journal of Clinical Oncology, "High EGFR gene copy number is associated with poor prognosis in lung cancer, but such findings have not been reported for HNSCC. A better understanding of the EGFR pathway may improve the use of EGFR inhibitors in HNSCC.
