 Esquire names CNA/NNOC leader Rose Ann DeMoro among "Best and Brightest in America"

Esquire magazine has named Rose Ann DeMoro, executive director of the California Nurses Association/National Nurses Organizing Committee, as one of America's "Best and Brightest 2006."

The award honors DeMoro for the passion and ingenuity that CNA/NNOC has shown in its fight to extend universal health coverage with a single standard of care to all Americans - including during the group's famous 2005 fight with Arnold Schwarzenegger over nurse-to-patient staffing ratios, which Esquire called "the most aggressive and colorful labor campaign in decades."
