Research reports from University of Cape Town, Department of Psychology provide new insights into post traumatic stress disorder in women

Research findings, 'Risk for post-traumatic stress disorder associated with different forms of interpersonal violence in South Africa,' are discussed in a new report. According to recent research from South Africa, "The South African population is exposed to multiple forms of violence. Using nationally representative data from 4351 South African adults, this study examined the relative risk for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) associated with political, domestic, criminal, sexual and other (miscellaneous) forms of assault in the South African population."
