New Clinical Trial Testing If Dietary Changes Can Help Patients With Crohn's Disease

The research group of Dr. James Michael Mullin, Professor at the Lankenau Institute for Medical Research (LIMR), is conducting a clinical trial for patients with Crohn's Disease. Crohn's disease is a chronic disorder that belongs to a larger group of illnesses called inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). It causes inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract, most commonly the small intestine and colon with symptoms such as persistent diarrhea, abdominal pain, and fever.

Over one million Americans are estimated to be living with IBD with over half of those with Crohn's disease. IBD tends to run in families so there is a genetic component involved. Additionally, it appears to...
