"Maspin is a member of the serpin (serine protease inhibitor) superfamily, and some experimental studies revealed a potential tumor suppressor activity of maspin. To reveal clinical significance of maspin status in NSCLC, we quantitatively evaluated maspin gene expression in lung primary tumors cut from a total of 55 resected NSCLC patients," scientists writing in the journal Lung Cancer reported.
