Scientist-Physician Calls for National Guideline to Treat Women with Human Papillomavirus (HPV) Infection

Connecticut Pathologist and medical scientist Sin Hang Lee, MD, has called for a set of new national guidelines to treat women tested positive for HPV because "too many women are being needlessly subjected to an invasive colposcopy procedure."

A group of National Cancer Institute (NCI) scientists recently agreed that such a set of new guidelines are warranted, in an open forum published in the November issue of American Journal of Clinical Pathology.
