Researchers from Jiangsu University Describe Findings in Bacillus

2011 OCT 10 -- New research, "Display of Bombyx mori alcohol dehydrogenases on the Bacillus subtilis spore surface to enhance enzymatic activity under adverse conditions," is the subject of a report. According to the authors of a study from Zhenjiang, People's Republic of China, "Alcohol dehydrogenases (ADHs) are oxidoreductases catalyzing the reversible oxidation of alcohols to corresponding aldehydes or ketones accompanied by nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD) or nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate (NADP) as coenzyme.
