Percutaneous transtracheal ventilation during respiratory arrest successful

Percutaneous transtracheal emergency ventilation during respiratory arrest is successful using either an oxygen flow modulator or a hand-triggered emergency jet injector in an animal model.

According to recent research published in the American Journal of Emergency Medicine, "The oxygen flow modulator is a device for percutaneous transtracheal emergency ventilation. Simulating a respiratory arrest situation, we studied the effects of this device in comparison with a hand-triggered emergency jet injector during pulmonary resuscitation."
