Reports Summarize Hantavirus Infections Study Results from Centers for Disease Control & Prevention

2012 JAN 30 -- Current study results from the report, "Hantavirus pulmonary syndrome," have been published. "Hantavirus pulmonary syndrome (HPS) is a severe disease characterized by a rapid onset of pulmonary edema followed by respiratory failure and cardiogenic shock. The HPS associated viruses are members of the genus Hantavirus, family Bunyaviridae," scientists in Atlanta, Georgia report.
