Nicardipine prolonged-release implants may improve surgical outcome

Nicardipine prolonged-release implants (NPRIs) may improve surgical outcomes in patients with acute subarachnoid hemorrhage. NPRIs "have been used to prevent vasospasm" in subarachnoid hemorrhage patients, according to neurosurgeons in Japan, who conducted a study "to examine the incidence of cerebral vasospasm and outcome after the application of NPRIs." "Ninety-seven consecutive patients among 125 patients with subarachnoid hemorrhage who were surgically treated within 72 hours were analyzed," by H.
