Recent studies add new data to atherosclerosis research

Investigators in the People's Republic of China, Australia and United States have published new atherosclerosis data. Study 1: The menopausal drug tibolone is associated with upregulated expression of estrogen and low density lipoprotein (LDL) receptors, whereas simvastatin isn't, shows an analysis of a study conducted in rabbits. "After menopause women are more susceptible to coronary heart disease due to increased risk of atherosclerosis.
