Transfer protein variants were not associated with Alzheimer disease

A recent report describes lack of genetic association of cholesteryl ester transfer protein polymorphisms with late onset Alzheimer disease. According to recent research published in the journal Neuroscience Letters, "Dysregulation of cholesterol homeostasis may be associated with the pathogenesis of coronary artery disease (CAD) and Alzheimer disease (AD)."
