p73 overexpression enhanced cisplatin-induced apoptosis in HeLa cells

p73 overexpression could enhance cis-diamminedichloroplatinum II (cisplatin)-induced apoptosis in HeLa cells. According to a recent report, researchers in South Korea conducted a study "to examine a possible synergistic role for p73 and cisplatin in HeLa cells with a nonfunctional p53 protein, we established stable HeLa/p73 clones using a tetracycline inducible eukaryotic expression vector. The HeLa/p73 clones were not characterized by changes in growth or morphology."
