Former Scoutmaster Admits Improper Contact With 300 Boys

A former Urbandale, Iowa, scoutmaster admitted improper sexual conduct with at least 300 boys before he was sentenced to 10 years in prison for molesting two boys.

In a copyright story appearing in the March 19, 1998, Des Moines Register, former Boy Scout leader Scott P., 38, is quoted as making the statement before his sentencing in Polk County District Court in Des Moines, Iowa.

Assistant Polk County Attorney Melodee Hanes, appearing March 17, 1998, before Judge Glenn E. Pille, called Mr. P. "a pedophile who in fact is a very serious danger to this community."
