Necrotic Lesions in Chronic Renal Failure Patients

Calciphylaxis is a rare devastating condition of cutaneous necrosis resulting from calcification of small blood vessels in patients with end stage renal failure and secondary hyperparathyroidism.

F.M. Jhaveri et al. described five patients with penile calciphylaxis seen at a single institution ("Penile Calciphylaxis: Rare Necrotic Lesions in Chronic Renal Failure Patients," Journal of Urology, September 1998;160(3 Part 1):764-767).
