Joint research initiative announced

The Cleveland Clinic Foundation and Technion - Israel Institute of Technology are establishing a joint research and education program in molecular medicine and biomedical engineering.

The collaboration will begin with five research projects in the fields of cardiology and orthopedics. The projects, which were set to begin at the end of February 2003, will focus on tissue engineering, heart stem-cell research, and fine mechanics and sophisticated robotics in orthopedics. The projects are being funded by a two-year grant from the Zielony Fund.
