Reports from Japan, Spain and the United States highlight recent research in cardiology.

Study 1: Cardiac ischemia causes vascular endothelial cadherin (VE-cadherin) promoter to mobilize bone marrow cells.

According to recent research from Japan, "VE-cadherin is expressed on vascular endothelial cells, which are involved in developmental vessel formation. However, it remains elusive how VE-cadherin-expressing cells function in postnatal neovascularization."
