Studies from Hacettepe University, Division of Pediatric Hematology add new findings in the area of aplastic anemia therapy

New investigation results, 'Varicella zoster-associated severe aplastic anemia in a child and its successful treatment with peripheral blood stem cell transplantation from HLA-5/6-identical donor,' are detailed in a study published in Medical Science Monitor. According to recent research from Ankara, Turkey, "Varicella zoster virus is very rarely associated with aplastic anemia."
