Researchers from Veterans General Hospital, Division of Cardiovascular Surgery describe findings in heart attack therapy

New research, 'Direct intramyocardial injection of mesenchymal stem cell sheet fragments improves cardiac functions after infarction,' is the subject of a report. "Cell transplantation is a promising approach for patients with myocardial infarction. However, following injection, retention of the transplanted cells in the injected area remains a central issue, which can be deleterious to cell transplantation therapy," scientists in Taipei, Taiwan report.
