Medical device firm records 26% decrease in revenue

Cardiogenesis Corporation (CGCP), developer of surgical products and accessories used in angina-relieving Transmyocardial Revascularization (TMR) and Percutaneous Myocardial Channeling (PMC) procedures, announced results for its first quarter ended March 31, 2005.

The company reported that revenues in the first quarter of 2005 were $3.0 million compared to $4.0 million in the same period in 2004, a decrease of 26%. Revenues in the 2005 first quarter were impacted by a decrease in laser sales. The company reported a favorable increase in handpiece shipments with 766 handpieces shipped worldwide.
