A new study examines changing trends in instrument usage for pediatric adenotonsillectomy

A recent survey sent to 300 members of the American Society of Pediatric Otolaryngology (ASPO) that assessed instruments currently used in tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy five, ten, and 15 years ago, finds that while the use of coblation has increased, monopolar electrocautery has remained the most preferred method.
