Studies from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Department of Urology yield new information about urethroplasty

Research findings, 'Outcome of end-to-end urethroplasty: single-center experience,' are discussed in a new report. According to a study from New Delhi, India, "We review our experience of end-to-end urethroplasty for urethral strictures performed during the last 6 years. From September 2001 to December 2006, 138 male patients underwent anastomotic urethroplasty at our center."

"Mean age was 28.1 years (range 6-71), average stricture length was 2.2 cm (range 0.7-6.0). One hundred and one patients (73.2%) had obliterative stricture while 37 (26.8%) still had some urethral passage. Ninety (65.2%) had a history of previous intervention.
