Reports from U. Hansen and colleagues advance knowledge in surgery

"We present a case of Achilles tendon reconstruction in a patient who had significant soft tissue loss as well as segmental loss of the tendon involving the calcaneal insertion," wrote U. Hansen and colleagues.
The researchers concluded: "The staged reconstructionwas undertaken with a combination of a sural fasciocutaneous flap and an Achilles tendon allograft with an attached calcaneal bone block."
