City Housing Authority Reports Outbreak of TB

Four cases of tuberculosis (TB) have been reported at an apartment complex managed by the Bridgeport, Connecticut, Housing Authority.

According to Joseph Marino, a spokesman for the state health department, the outbreak poses no threat to the other residents of the complex. Marino said those afflicted with the disease are undergoing treatment.

Marino said that all four patients, and a fifth person who is thought to have the disease, either live in the complex or are friends or relatives of residents. One of the four patients is believed to be the source of the infection.
